The good news of the Bible is that God sent his one and only Son, Jesus Christ, into the world in the form of a man. Jesus is God in the flesh. He is fully God and fully man. Because he never sinned, he had no guilt before God. God gave his son, Jesus, to die for us. In 2Cor.5:21 we read, “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” When Jesus died on the cross, he bore our sins. He bore our guilt and paid our punishment, dying in our place. “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” - Rom 5:8. The story of redemption does not stop with Jesus’ death. We learn in the Gospels that Jesus rose from the dead, never to die again. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
